Finding A Paint Color That Works For Your Room
One of the hardest decisions to make when it comes to decorating a house is trying to find the right colors to use. There are hundreds to choose from and deciding which one you would love the most is not an easy job.
You need to remember that you have to be patient and know that it is going to take some time. If you rush through picking something you mat settle for something that you will eventually hate. Go to your nearest Lowes or Home Depot or even Wal-Mart and pick out the paint chips and colors that strike you. I don’t care if you leave there with a whole bag full. Grab as many as you like and start there.
One of the easiest ways to choose your color is to look at the fabric of your curtains and sofa. Find the colors that they have and try match it. Trying to paint your walls a different color than the rest of the things in the room will make it look chaotic and it won’t help you to relax.
If you’re working with a print fabric, you’ll probably be happier if you select the coordinating wall paint color from the background of the print. Use the deeper or brighter tones for accents throughout the room or adjacent spaces. More often than not, you’ll select a shade of white or off-white for the moldings, doors, and windows. If you’re feeling brave, consider the palest shade of color to coordinate with the walls. For a really striking look, try lighter walls and dark tones or bright color for trim.
